Vincent's Clam Bar (NOT in Little Italy)

Last night, after Michael and I went suit shopping for him -he needs new ones because he's lost so much weight :) we ate dinner at Vincent's Clam Bar (www.vincentsclambar.com) on Old Country Road in Carle Place.

It does not compare IN ANY WAY to the Vincent's in Little Italy. By that I mean: The restaurant (and I use the term loosely) in NYC is SO horrible that words cannot describe it accurately.

The place on Long Island is SO good. We have eaten there several times over the years. I used to work nearby, a million years ago, and we went for lunch occasionally. Every experience is a good one. Some better than others, but never a real complaint. The service is always good, and that's a huge plus.

Last night we started with Calamari Arrabiatta (with cherry peppers). Holy Shit! It was near perfection (calamari could have been a bit more tender, but the flavor was all there). Then we had a Mini Lobster Bisque. Is that a great idea or what? It's soup served in an espresso cup with an espresso spoon. I LOVE lobster bisque, but don't love the fattening cream, so you get a decent taste of it without eating an entire bowl. And it was GOOD!

I ordered the Grandma pizza with sauce and Michael had a wrap with Grilled Chicken and Roasted Peppers. They were both really good. My pizza was outstanding!

Jesse loved the leftovers.

Tonight it's back to basics. (not such a bad thing).
